Psychotherapy and talking therapy is more than 'Psychobabble' it is a process of active listening enabling others to find the answers to the questions in their lives by talking to someone impartial who doesn't know them or their past. That can be empowering. Suddenly you can share with another person your innermost thoughts, feelings, emotions and perhaps even fears and anger without feeling judged. A therapist can help you using a variety of therapy techniques to take a long hard look at yourself and come to a place where you accept who you are (warts and all) and like what you see!

We all experience problems in life. Sometimes we can manage them ourselves, sometimes we need help to manage them or simply someone impartial to listen.

Did you know that when we listen more than we speak, we hear more?! Sometimes it is what a person doesn't say that is worth exploring more. That's what psychotherapy (or counselling) is about. Listening, hearing, understanding, empathising and on occasion, reading between the lines without making assumptions to help an individual to explore their thoughts, feelings and actions and ultimately help themselves to bring about positive change.

To learn more about psychotherapy and the type of work my consultancy Transcend advocates, you can book a Psychobabble Presentation by completing the contact form for yourself, your group or organisation. Please choose from one of the psychotherapy topics listed in the left hand column. Alternatively, you may be looking for therapy associated with one of these topics, or perhaps help with something else.
